Little Lion Man by Mumford & Sons
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7bHe--mp1g
Cinematography - This video uses close-ups of the instruments and medium close-ups to include the band member with their instrument. An establishing shot is used when the singing starts, so that the audience knows who it is and what they are doing. During the intro it isn't really clear what is going on because there are cuts between different instruments and it isn't clear where they are situated until the establishing shot.
Editing - There aren't many editing techniques used especially because the video doesn't have a narrative alongside it. Jump cuts are used to switch between close-ups of the instruments along with the beat of the music.
Mise-en-Scene - The lighting creates shadows and dark areas which disguise their faces many times and you can't always see them clearly, with points more focus towards their instruments. They are in a very basic room with two light bulbs hanging from the ceiling, it gives a feeling of a barn which is typically associated with folk music. Their clothing is similar to one another they are wearing waistcoats and the colours are neutral which doesn't pull any extra focus to them suggesting it is more about the music.
Sound - The sound that is featured is synchronous diegetic.
Form - There is no narrative in this music it is a performance by Mumford & Sons of their song with their instruments.

Cinematography - This video uses close-ups of the guitar (just like in the Mumford & Sons video) and of the man, which means at the beginning you don't get a clear idea of who he is or what is going on. There isn't a lot of movement from the camera other than the use of steadicam following the man as he walks along or walks up the beach. Long shots and establishing shots show the audience where the man is towards the end of the video. POV shots following an eyeline match show the audience what the man is doing.
Editing - Crosscutting is used throughout to show Laura Marling singing and the rambling man whom she is singing about.
Mise-en-Scene - The video shows Laura sat singing and playing her guitar in a big coat on the beach, and the man is later shown in woolly jumpers and outside with a woolly hat on suggesting it is rather cold, but then the man goes to swim in the sea. This contrasts from what we have already seen suggesting he is a bit mad.
Sound - The sound used is partially diegetic synchronous. There are times when you can't see Laura singing but the audience know where the sound is coming from. There is also the scene when the man is coming out of the sea with a suitcase and you can hear him gasping for breath and the noise of the sea, this is also synchronous diegetic.
Form - The narrative follows the rambling man as he goes to the beach, and the video also shows a performance from Laura Marling with her guitar.

Cinematography - In this video close ups are used to show the instruments and the band members, mainly the lead singer as he is singing. An ELS is used to show the audience participating in the performance by clapping. A pan is used to show the audience and then the band afterwards. A crane is used as a movement technique to show the audience the band whilst they are performing. Reverse zoom is used to move a close up for example a member of the band to reverse zoom and show them in a mid shot playing their instrument.
Editing - There aren't many editing techniques used especially because the video doesn't have a narrative alongside it.
Mise-en-Scene - The lighting is used to focus on the band whilst they are performing and also it goes along with the beat of the music, henceforth accentuating the beat of the song. The band wear rather formal clothing such as shirts and ties suggesting it is an important thing for them to take part in. It also suggests what sort of an image they are going for as a band.
Sound - The sound that is featured is synchronous diegetic, including the singing, music and sounds from the crowd.
Form - This music video has no narrative, it is a live performance by Noah & the Whale.

Cinematography - Focus pulls are used to switch from out-of-focus to focus in on the lead singer, as he starts to sing. An ELS is used to show the band in the studio setting. Mid shot and close ups are used to show band members during the performance.
Editing - There aren't many editing techniques used especially because the video doesn't have a narrative alongside it.
Mise-en-Scene - The lighting isn't used to create any kind of effect. The location is in a studio-like setting suggesting that is the sort of environment they record in.
Sound - The sound that is featured is synchronous diegetic.
Form - There is no narrative the video shows a performance in a studio-like setting.
The Box by Johnny Flynn
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oyNd0EI1_Y
Cinematography - POS in CU are used following an eyeline match so the audience can see what the man sketch is doing.
Editing - Eyeline matches are used along with crosscutting between Johnny Flynn singing and the sketched man.
Mise-en-Scene - The extent of the video is in black and white which gives it a vintage feel.
Sound - The sound starts off as asynchronous diegetic and then becomes synchronous and switches between the two as we see Johnny Flynn singing and then the man.
Form - The video is a narrative of drawings following a man along with a performance of the song by Johnny Flynn. Text also appears on the screen as the lyrics are sung in some parts.
